Lorraine Barreto qualified from King’s College School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1999. She undertook orthodontic specialty training at Birmingham Dental Hospital where she worked as a consultant from 2010 to 2018. She was involved in the management of a range of complex multidisciplinary cases, both in hospital and private practice. She was President and Treasurer of the Midland Orthodontic Society, and the lead orthodontist for the specialist mandibular deformity service at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

 

Lorraine was appointed as Consultant Orthodontist at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2018. She is the Academic Lead for the undergraduate orthodontic training programme and Curriculum Development Lead for undergraduate Orthodontics, Paediatric Dentistry, and Special Care Dentistry at King’s College London. She is actively involved in the training and clinical supervision of undergraduate dental students, orthodontic therapists, and postgraduates to consultant level. She is an examiner for the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination (ISFE) in Orthodontics, MSc. in Orthodontics at King’s College, London, and Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. She is a Council Member of the European Orthodontic Society.
